Seeking for Righteousness

The Personal Blog of Kaimi Wenger

Wow . . .

I took the short quiz over at Select Smart to determine which presidential candidate most closely fit my political views. Boy, was I surprised by the results. I’m not sure if the machine is broken over there, or if I’m just in denial, but the results are in and I must confess a certain amount of bemusement:

1. Sharpton, Reverend Al – Democrat (100%)

2. Clinton, Senator Hillary Rodham, NY – Democrat (91%)

3. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT – Democrat (91%)

4. Libertarian Candidate (90%)

5. Kerry, Senator John, MA – Democrat (89%)

6. Kucinich, Cong. Dennis, OH – Democrat (86%)

7. Edwards, Senator John, NC – Democrat (86%)

8. Bayh, Senator Evan, IN – Democrat (86%)

9. Leahy, Patrick Senator, Vermont – Democrat (86%)

10. Green Party Candidate (85%)

11. Lieberman Senator Joe CT – Democrat (85%)

12. Daschle, Senate Minority Leader Tom, SD – Democrat (83%)

13. Feingold, Senator Russ, WI – Democrat (77%)

14. Biden, Senator Joe, DE – Democrat (76%)

15. Socialist Candidate (75%)

16. Gephardt, Cong. Dick, MO – Democrat (75%)

17. Jackson, Cong. Jesse Jr., IL – Democrat (74%)

18. Graham, Senator Bob, FL – Democrat (73%)

19. Dodd, Senator Chris, CT – Democrat (69%)

20. Moseley-Braun, Former Senator Carol IL – Democrat (66%)

21. Feinstein, Senator Dianne, CA – Democrat (66%)

22. Bradley, Former Senator Bill NJ – Democrat (59%)

23. Kaptur, Cong. Marcy, OH – Democrat (51%)

24. Buchanan, Patrick J. – Reform/Republican (44%)

25. Gore, Former Vice-President Al – Democrat (40%)

26. Bush, George W. – US President (35%)

27. McCain, Senator John, AZ- Republican (7%) <- The person who I voted for and donated to last election

28. Phillips, Howard – Constitution (6%)

29. Hagelin, John – Natural Law (4%)

30. Vilsack, Governor. Tom IA – Democrat (1%)

31. Clark, Retired Army General Wesley K “Wes” Arkansas – Democrat (-1%)

32. Hart, Former Senator Gary, CO – Democrat (-2%)

33. LaRouche, Lyndon H. Jr. – Democrat (-12%)

Heh. I find this amusing because (1) I could never see myself voting for Sharpton, ever. His history of anti-Semitic and other inflammatory, not-well-thought-out comments really makes that issue a no-brainer. (2) I consider myself a McCain supporter. In fact, I donated to his campaign!

EDIT: I tried it again, I couldn’t remember all of my answers, but I put mostly the same, made a few changes, and also selected the option to only show declared candidates. The new result is:

1. Edwards, Senator John, NC – Democrat (91%)

2. Kerry, Senator John, MA – Democrat (90%)

3. Lieberman Senator Joe CT – Democrat (87%)

4. Gephardt, Cong. Dick, MO – Democrat (84%)

5. Sharpton, Reverend Al – Democrat (80%)

Ahh. The world makes sense again.

Well, it’s a fun quiz, anyway, though I don’t think I’ll let it determine my vote.
